Publishing my first recording will take longer…
Because of a big change in my career, things are extremely busy.
I have to do a lot of information production and consumption, this means lot’s of preparations and writing stuff on ‘paper’. Like most of the IT minded people, this can be a hard thing. But as with most of my affords, I try to score above average, and this is always consuming a lot of time…
I’ve come to the conclusion that doing this first recording, will take more time that expected.
Yesterday it resulted in using some equipment, that i didn’t use for a long time….
I’ve got some stuff unpacked again.. This gave me a real good feeling! I unpacked my good old AKAI S3000 Sampler, that i can use for playing background tunes and samples (like jingels).
Maybe I want to archive a certain level of quality in my first recording. Again, trying to get above average.
My ‘dutch’ (steenkolen:) English and my ‘non radio’ voice are going to mess things up anyway, so the rest just has to be perfect… 😀
I’ve done some test recordings last weekend for my podcast.
Tried some different setups. For the final setup I used one notebook for Recording (Using Steinberg WaveLab), another notbook to mix and play MP3 files (using Traktor DJ Studio) and a PC for notes, mail, web and Skype if needed… This works pretty good, but I’m thinking of buying a external recording device like Adam Curry has, because this will give me more freedom for playing MP3’s..
In stead of just hitting the record button and doing a podcast, i’m thinking of recording bits and pieces during the week and mixing them up on fridaynight to the final podcast..
Robert helped me today by doing a post on his Blog,
about me starting a Blog (and a Podcast)…
So, there’s no way back.. I’m going to spill my thought’s here.
The world has ‘yet another blogger’.
I read about the ‘MSN spaces’ on different media this week, and was surprised by some reactions on the news..
Some people wrote:
"o no! Now that Microsoft goes into blogging everybody will start blogging, and that’s just what we need… more blogs…"
Is blogging a bad thing… ?
I think this is a good sign that blogging is far from being mature.
Not all people see "the good" that Blogging brings to the world, it isn’t "open and usable" enough..
And this is exactly what i like about the MSN Spaces ….
It will bring a transparent, know and usable interface to something that wasn’t open for the standard internet user.
I’m not saying that the current Blogging tools aren’t user-friendly, but i think that MSN spaces will be ‘closer’ and more usable for "the average western citizen" …
Welcome to my blog about the future of technology, and the way i see things.
I think i could maybe inspire other people with my thoughts…
